Summary
House Moltiess, called the House of the People by many, hails from the duchy Chorus and Song. Founded during the fractured Federated Empire, House Moltiess has undergone several name and ownership changes. First known as the Kingdom of Song, the Unification saw it adopt the name of its founder, Necrebius Holmsted, to become the House Holmsted. Later, the cryptons reveal a schism within the house, which eventually led to a separation. From House Holmsted spawned the House Posner and what is know widely called the House of the People, named Moltiess after Lord Molton and his polity, the Moltesses.
House Moltiess enjoys a favorable repuation with the Citizenry. It owes this reputation to a recent significant shift in house politics toward benefitting the Citizenry over Majora’s holy Burghership. Cryptons record a speech by Lord Pieter Moltiess, who promised “a steadfast resolve” and “an iron fist for the Burghership” in his bid for the Office of the Seneschal.
House Moltiess is the only Burgher House whose members have held the Office of the Seneschal for two consecutive generations. After the death of Lord Pieter, his young son Elegnon Moltiess was elected Seneschal with immense support from the Citizenry.
House Moltiess holds several significant Ressorts. Among them, the Office of the Seneschal is the foremost. For 20 Etes at the authoring of this chronicle, Lord Seneschal Elegnon Moltiess has held the office, executing it with excellence, according to imperial Duces. Among the Burghership, opinions are divided because of a history of open hostility and dismissiveness from House Moltiess. Famously, the Lord Seneschal Elegnon Moltiess, Duke of Chorus and Song, encourages even the Citizenry to address him without honorifics, simply as Lord Elegnon. Elegnon has long claimed that his work is driven by a devotion to the Discipline as it is written.

The young Lady Esper Marie Valeria Moltiess, Lord Elegnon’s younger sister, is at once the Chair of the Imperial Board of Medicine, a renowned healer and scholar, and the current Bannerlady of her House, since the death of her uncle, the Bannerlord Iqaros Moltiess.
